Johnny Young is an Australian singer, composer, producer, disc jockey
and television producer and host. He is probably best known and loved for
his long standing television show Young Talent Time that ran on Network
Ten from 1971 until 1988.

The show Young Talent Time (YTT) was an Australian television children’s
variety show that featured a core group of young performers and a weekly
junior talent quest. The Young Talent Team regularly performed popular
classics along with the top hit songs of the day. The program launched
the careers of a number of Australian performers including Tina Arena,
Dannii Minogue, Jamie Redfern, Karen Knowles and many more.

Johnny Young’s beaming face from the television each Saturday night, surrounded by his talented young team, made him a favourite with all Australians. The program ran for such a long time and made an unforgettable mark on several generations of Australian children, with the message that if you believe and try hard enough, you can achieve anything.
One memorable aspect of the show was the regular closing number, where Johnny Young would sing the Beatles' song "All My Lovin'" (with which he had an Australian hit in the 1960s), accompanied by the entire cast, in an almost lullaby style, individually wishing all of the cast good night.

He continues his tradition today, by hosting the end of year performance with the Johnny Young Talent School Mill Park allowng the students to sing his memorable song and rekindle the memories for all parents and keeping Young Talent Time alive in the hearts of Australia.
